Aphotic Occurrences

Aphotic is a term meaning lightless; dark. it refers to a zone in a lake or sea in which sunlight does not reach. given the lack of light, the creatures dwelling within it have evolved with unique adaptations. bioluminescence, light formed by living organisms, is essentially the only form of light at these depths.

society has formed in a similar way. given the daily assault on the beauty; the warmth; the refuge of the dark, i found it necessary to highlight that beauty, warmth, and refuge.
